FAQs

Q?

How do I get started on a new project?

A.

To begin a new project, contact us through phone, email or the contact page. We will set up a meeting to discuss your objectives and make sure that we are the right fit for your project. Based on the information collected at the meeting, you will receive a project proposal. Acceptance of this proposal and a project contract begins the design process.

Q?

What is included in a project proposal?”

A.

A project proposal includes our suggestions on the best scope of our involvement in your project. A preliminary project schedule breaks down the phases customized to your project, with deliverables indicated for each phase and the steps required to get there. A supplemental project overview is also provided to outline the general project goals, payment schedule and other project features. If approved, a project contract will be provided and a signed copy is required before design can begin.

Q?

In what locations will you accept projects?”

A.

We will consider projects in any location. We are happy to coordinate with our clients on the best scope of work and design approach for projects off Cape Cod. Our video communication capabilities ensure that online discussions are an effective alternative to in-person meetings. For some long-distance projects, we encourage association with local consultants during the final phases to ensure adherence to local building codes and for more efficient communication with town boards, inspectors and other authorities.

Q?

What type of projects do you work on?

A.

We will consider projects that involve spatial design ranging from small to mid scale. Whether it is the size of an individual room or a 4 story office building, we are up to the task.

Q?

How much does the design process cost?

A.

Designs are so widely varied that it is virtually impossible to provide a single cost for all situations. The size and type of the project, the location, the materials and technologies being integrated, the involvement of a contractor and a client and many other variables go into determining an overall project cost. However, we try to make our pricing as clear and as flexible as possible. Please see the 'pricing' page in the 'about' section for a detailed explanation of our pricing methods.

If budget is a significant factor for the design, we are happy to work with you on discussing options that will lower costs, including whether all project phases are really necessary for your needs.
